We All Make Mistakes

I came across this picture on Reddit.  It exemplifies a life lesson that I preach.  We all make mistakes.  Everyone does it.  Yes everyone does.  Some people won’t admit to it, but yes they make mistakes too.  It’s part of life. It’s a learning experience.   No one is perfect and things happen.

Some mistakes are small and can be corrected easily.  Some are bigger and cause other events to happen.   When those happen, own up to the mistake and work to fix it.  Don’t lie about the mistake.  That just makes it 100 times worse than the original mistake.

Own up to your mistakes.  Make them your own and fix it.

There is a line in the Oh Hellos song “I Have Made Mistakes” that I think about a lot.   The line goes ‘nothing is a waste if you learn from it’.   Think about that,’ nothing is a waste if you learn from it’.

Think about how the mistakes you have made – did you learn something from it.  If so then it wasn’t a waste.   It actually might have been good in some strange way to have made that mistake.  What that says to me is that nothing in our life is a mistake because we are constantly learning.

Learn from your mistakes and own them.  Everyone makes mistakes.  Be the one who embraces their mistakes, owns them, and moves on.
